East Haven 11-Year-Old Wins Access Broadway Competition

This month, despite 592 competitors, 11-year-old Briana Morgan Knight of East Haven won the Access Broadway regional competition.

The competition features vocal and dance performances. The Day reports that Knight wowed the judges as she sang Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away," Lauren Alana's "Georgia Peaches," Bruno Mars's "It will Rain," and "The Cup Song" from the movie Pitch Perfect.

The competition was held at the Mystic Marriott Hotel in Groton. Knight is the daughter of Brian and Florence DeVito-Knight and takes lessons at Vocal Productions in Branford, according to the newspaper.
