East Haven Election Results 2023: Carfora Wins 3rd Term As Mayor
Incumbent Democrat Mayor Joseph A. Carfora defeated Republican Samantha "Sam" Parlato in the 2023 East Haven mayoral race.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The polls have closed and the votes are being counted to determine numerous key races including Mayor, Town Clerk, Town Council, Board of Education and Board of Finance.
At 8:30 p.m., just 30 minutes after the polls closed, East Haven Mayor Democrat Joseph A. Carfora, who garnered 3,931 votes, declared he'd won the election.
"We worked hard, ran a clean campaign, I'm very proud of our team," Carfora told Patch. "It's an honor to serve the town of East Haven."

In a statement emailed to Patch, challenger Republican Samantha "Sam" Parlato recognized and thanked voters, and her "supporters, volunteers, donors and sponsors."
"Tonight, I want to recognize my opponent for running a clean campaign and congratulate them on their victory," she wrote. "Looking ahead, I plan to continue my deep involvement in local meetings, committees, service organizations, and events to promote quality values in East Haven."

According to the East Haven Registrar of Voters, the following are the preliminary election results. The Secretary of State's official numbers will be forthcoming. This post will be updated.
