East Haven Middle School Remembers Beloved Security Guard

Joseph Melillo Middle School commemorated the life of Gerald “Jerry” Consiglio, who died in November, on Wednesday morning according to the New Haven Register.

Consiglio was a security officer for the middle school for several years, but also worked within the district for almost 50 years, the Register reported.

Consiglio is remembered by his friendly demeanor and his reputation for buying kids lunch who couldn’t afford it themselves, the Register reported.

A crowd of over 600 students and faculty, as well as friends and family, attended the event for Consiglio that featured musical performances from students and remembrances, according to the Register.
