East Haven Mom 'Always Puts Others Before Herself'

EAST HAVEN, CT— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

My mom is special because she has been through so much and she never lets it stop her or get in the way of being a mom first. She never misses the chance to take time out of her busy work schedule to help me with any school work or projects even if it's 10:00 at night and she's just walking in the door tired from work. She always makes sure me and my siblings have everything we need and always puts others before herself. She would give anyone the shirt off her back or the last dollar she has if she had to.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

My mom deserves the spotlight because she never goes a day without putting someone before herself. She is a CNA in a dementia unit and doesn't just take care of our family, but always takes care of other people's family also. She always comes home from work saying how much she loves her patients and cries when they pass because she has the biggest heart and takes her job so seriously and cares for them like they were one of her own children or family members.
