East Haven Mom Is 'Sweet, Caring And Special'

Patch and T-Mobile are partnering to shine a light on awesome moms in the East Haven area.

EAST HAVEN, CT— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

This submission comes from Theresa DelGiudice Vasso who nominated Rose DelGiudice of East Haven.

What makes your Mom extra special?

Our mom is very special. She is 93 years young. There are five children, and spouses, twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren who she adores! Growing up my mom had a lot to do taking care of five children. She didn’t get her driver's license until she was thirty-five. She always had holidays at our house sometimes cooking for more the 30 relatives at a time! She always made sure our friends were welcome in our home. Everyone who knows Rose will tell you she’s very sweet and never has anything bad to say about anyone! Although the last year has been challenging for health-wise, my mom still checks on her children and grandkids daily to make sure everything is ok. I have beautiful memories as a child because of my mom!

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

Because she is one special lady!
