East Haven Police Capt. Emerman Graduates FBI National Academy

"The East Haven Police Department is proud to announce that Captain David Emerman has graduated from the prestigious FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, as part of Session 292!

The 11-week program brings together law enforcement leaders from across the United States and around the world, providing advanced leadership, communication, and fitness training.

Session 292 included 257 officers representing 48 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, 27 countries, and various federal and military organizations. The program is internationally recognized for its academic excellence, with courses accredited through the University of Virginia.

Captain Emerman, who began his career with the East Haven Police Department in 2004, has held a variety of roles, including Compliance Coordinator for the U.S. Department of Justice Settlement Agreement, Community Liaison, and Public Information Officer. He was promoted to Captain in 2020 and currently serves as Commander of the Patrol Division. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Captain Emerman has been a key bridge between the department and the community.

Captain Emerman is also a graduate of the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) and the Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development Course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Boston University, Questrom School of Business.

The East Haven Police Department congratulates Captain Emerman on this tremendous achievement, which reflects his commitment to professional growth and leadership in law enforcement.
