East Haven Police, Fire Depts. Hold Sensory-Friendly Public Safety Day
Connects those in special needs community with 1st responders, learn about equipment in calm, sensory-friendly environment to allay fears.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Sponsored by the East Haven Police Department, East Haven Fire Department, and Linked Autism Safety Project, first responders will hold a Sensory-Friendly Public Safety Day this month.
Join first responders from the police and fire departments Saturday, Dec. 28, from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m., at East Haven High School, 35 Wheelbarrow Lane, for an "incredible event designed for individuals in our special needs community."
"This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with East Haven first responders and learn about their equipment in a calm, sensory-friendly environment," police posted to Facebook. "Together, we hope to alleviate some fears children may associate with rescue situations."
