East Haven Rotary Club Honored 1st Students Of The Month For 2023-2024
For September and October, EHHS' Trevor Vaccino, nominated by Science Dept. and Willow Torres, nominated by English Dept, are the honorees.

EAST HAVEN, CT — The East Haven Rotary Club honored their first Student of the Month recipients for the 2023-2024 academic year.
For the months of September and October, Trevor Vaccino and Willow Torres are the honorees.
Trevor, who was nominated by the Science Department, has participated in Cross Country, Track, and Tennis. He is a member of the Science Club, Future Business Leaders of America and the Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Church Choir. Trevor plans to study and pursue a trade such as plumbing.

Willow, nominated by the English Department, is a writer for EHHS’s school newspaper, “The Comet." She also occasionally volunteers at her local library organizing the publications. As Willow anticipates graduating from EHHS with honors, she is expected to enter college with some accepted college credits already earned. She plans to attend a community college and then change schools to major in psychology.
Each month, the Rotary recognizes a student from East Haven High School's junior class. The club makes these presentations at Superintendent Erica Forti’s monthly, District Wide Students of the Month Assembly, which takes place the last Friday of the month in the Media Center at the high school.

The East Haven Rotary Club presents each honoree with a certificate, a Rotary commemorative coin and a check for $100. Winners then become eligible for the $1000 Jack Leary Memorial Scholarship to be awarded at the end of their senior year.
