Feds: Former East Haven Police Officer Sentenced Monday [DOCS]

Jason Zullo, one of the four East Haven Police officers arrested and indicted as part of the U.S. Justice Department's investigation into alleged civil rights violations, will learn his legal fate early next week.
Zullo is scheduled to be sentenced Monday afternoon in Hartford by federal Judge Alvin W. Thompson. Zullo faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years and a fine of up to $250,000.
After first pleading not guilty, the former EHPD officer changed his plea to guilty to one count of obstruction of justice "stemming from his filing of a false police report in order to prevent a possible excessive force investigation," according to the Justice Department.
On Jan. 18, 2012, a federal grand jury in Bridgeport returned an indictment charging Zullo, then Sgt. John Miller and East Haven Police officers Dennis Spaulding and David Cari with various civil rights offenses.
In October, Spaulding and Cari were found guilty of conspiring to violate, and of violating, the civil rights of members of the East Haven community. They are scheduled to be sentenced Jan. 21.
Miller also changed his verdict to guilty. He is expected to be sentenced in February.
