The restaurant was shut down twice in recent years - first from the floodwaters Tropical Storm Irene in 2011 and and then a year later from Hurricane Sandy.

Both times co-owners Barbara Bucci and Cindy Fucci reopened the restaurant after extensive renovations and repairs.

The restaurant first opened in 1942. It was famed, in its heyday, for its fried seafood dishes - along with its deck overlooking the nearby Long Island Sound.

The realtor selling the property, William Clark, said on Monday: “We’ve had several showings.”

Clark said the restaurant’s co-owner, Barbara Bucci, is the person listing the property.

He said the “outside of the property is in great shape. But whoever buys the property, if they want to open a restaurant, is going to have to replenish the inside with all new restaurant equipment - so that’s going to cost some money.”

Clark said he believes the “right kind of restaurant” would do well at the location, noting that there is a large condo complex situated nearby that could be a large customer base within walking distance.
