Patch: How long have you been doing business in town?
Chris Palumbo: over 80 years

Patch: What attracted you to the line of work you’re in, and how did you get started?
Chris Palumbo: When I was doing my student teaching back in Pennsylvania, I helped my uncle in his funeral home. I never worked for my family. I saw how my uncle treated families during their time of need. He was great at what he did and dedicated to serving, so i said, I can be that person, but better. After graduating college from St. Francis University, Loretto PA, I attended Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science graduated from there in September 1995.

Patch: What's the most common piece of advice you give to customers?
Chris Palumbo: Call me, I will take care of EVERYTHING, you just worry about your family. I will do it all.

Patch: What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
Chris Palumbo: Knowing that I served a family to the highest standards and took care of all their needs and special requests. At the end of a service, getting a hug and "thank you" from the family.......that's my goal.

Patch: How would you say your business or organization distinguishes itself from the others?
Chris Palumbo: Once you call Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, you get me, Chris Palumbo and you are stuck with me. All funeral homes believe they serve families to the highest standard, what separates me, I will prove it. I give all family members my cell number, office number and email address. No family member should ever go to sleep prior to a service with a question, I say "call me." In addition to funerals, I help the families purchase plots (I will meet you at cemetery if needed), call and complete your insurance claims and even reserve your restaurant, then you select the options. When doing pre-needs, I know and understand the CT state laws and maximize benefits for the family.

Patch: How can Patch readers learn more about your work and business?
Chris Palumbo: You can find us on Facebook, Web page or just call my office or cell. I am willing to talk and help.
