Mayor Honored By Local Chapter Of St Jude Children's Research Hospital
Carfora was named Man of the Year for "dedication to community, charitable commitments, including Mayor's Alliance to End Childhood Hunger."
EAST HAVEN, CT —The New Haven chapter of the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital announced that East Haven Mayor Joseph A. Carfora has been named as a "recipient of the prestigious Man of the Year award."
The award will be presented at the upcoming St. Jude Children's Man of the Year award dinner, scheduled for early 2024.
In a news release, it's noted that St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, "a beacon of hope for children battling catastrophic diseases, has a longstanding tradition of honoring individuals who make significant contributions to their communities and support the mission of the hospital."

"Mayor Joseph Carfora has exemplified these values through his dedicated service to the community of East Haven and his commitment to multiple charitable causes like the Mayor’s Alliance to End Childhood Hunger," according to Arthur Natalino, New Haven chapter president.
"The Man of the Year award recognizes Mayor Carfora's outstanding contributions to improving the lives of children and families in need," the release from St. Jude reads. "His dedication to community programs, advocacy, and public service has made a significant impact on the lives of those who rely on the services and support provided by St. Jude Children's Research Hospital."

Carfora said he was "humbled" by the announcement.
"I am deeply honored to receive this award," he said. "The work they do is truly life-changing, and I am proud to be associated with such a remarkable organization."
The award dinner at the Annex Y.M.A Hall is open to the public, and tickets will be available for purchase. All funds raised during this event will go toward St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's mission to advance cures and means of prevention for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.
"Your attendance and support can make a significant difference in the lives of children battling life-threatening illnesses," the release from the New Haven chapter reads.
"He has a strong commitment to the welfare and progress of his community," the news release reads in its description of Carfora. "Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to public service and supporting charitable organizations that make a positive impact on people's lives."
