Obituary: James T. Vivian, 77, of East Haven

James T. Vivian, 77, beloved husband of Linda DePino Vivian of East Haven passed away suddenly on November 7, 2023 at his home. Loving father of Darcey Ezel of Hubert, NC and Lauren (Michael) Petruccelli of Shelton. Cherished grandfather of Mark Patnaude, Kiera Ezel, Matthew and Cecelia Petruccelli. Brother of Kenneth (Jean Marie) Vivian of New Milford. Jim was born in Yonkers, NY on September 9, 1946 a son of the late Donald and Lorraine Vivian. He also leaves his golf buddies and many other friends along with nieces and nephews. Prior to his retirement he was the data manager 23 years for the Montefiore Medical Centers.

He was avid golfer for many years at various golf courses. He also was so proud of the hole in one he got at the country club. He was a tremendous lover of all animals, especially his dog Molly, whom he loved unconditionally as she loved him unconditionally. Molly was his very best friend. His kindness wasn’t only to animals but to all people whom he met in his lifetime. He and Linda traveled to many countries, Italy, Austria (Linda’s favorite), Ireland, Hungry, Prague, and Spain. Jim was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Wednesday morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call WEDNESDAY MORNING from 8:30-10:30.
