William F. Schilling born February 26, 1949 passed away January 12, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. Bill was a lifelong employee of Metro North Railroad. He was the beloved husband of Alice Leonzo Schilling, to whom he shared a lifetime of friendship and devotion. He was the proud and loving father to Kara Schilling Canney and her husband Patrick who was like a son to him. He was an adoring grandfather to Wesley and Mary-Alice who brought him immeasurable joy. Son of the late William J. Schilling and Dorothy Haas Schilling. Brother to Steven Schilling and the late Robert Schilling (Sharon Powers). Bill is survived by many “favorite” nieces and nephews. Bill was happiest when he was with his family and friends, out on the golf course at Alling Memorial Golf Club in New Haven, or Mission Valley Country Club in Nokomis, Florida or accusing the girls for cheating at setback. He found joy in the simple things, like a rocks glass filled with Tullamore Dew with extra ice. His bear-embrace hugs and warm wit will be missed by all lucky enough to know him.
