Obituary: Zofia “Sophie” Kikosicki, 83, of East Haven
An avid hugger, she loved spending time with, and cooking for, her family, and she enjoyed working in her garden and casino trips.
Zofia “Sophie” Kikosicki, 83, of East Haven, passed away on November 5, 2023. Beloved wife of 60 years to Raymond Kikosicki. Sophie was born in Poland on April 23, 1940, daughter of the late Jan and Florentyna (Basik) Strzalkowski. Loving mother of Elizabeth Ferraro, Joseph (Lauri) Kikosicki and John (Sallyanne) Kikosicki, all of East Haven. Cherished grandma to Kristin, John, Megan & Jordan Kikosicki and Celina (Jesse) Tarantelli. Proud great-grandmother of Valentina and Jesse James Tarantelli. Sophie was a very special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Sophie was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Karol and Theresa Strzalkowski of Boiling Springs, PA. She was the sister-in-law of Richard (Fran), Joseph (Claudia), Paul (Donna) and John (Gail) Kikosicki, and the late Rose (Robert) Rabovsky, Theresa (Ozzie) Stankiewicz and Frances (William) Augustine.
Sophie loved spending time with and cooking for her family. She spent many fun years watching her grandchildren, planting flowers, and weeding in her garden, or any garden or lawn she happened to be in. Sophie was an avid hugger and had a tight squeeze for everyone she knew. She also enjoyed her trips to the casino. Sophie was a faithful parishioner of St. Pio of Pietrelcina (St. Vincent de Paul) Church.
