Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Hit-And-Run Car: East Haven Police
A suspect is now in custody, police said in an update on Saturday morning.

UPDATE: A suspect is in custody after last night's fatal hit-and-run, police said.
"After saturating the area, the white hatchback seen in surveillance video was located in the Autumn Ridge Apartment Complex, 90 Gerrish Avenue, East Haven, CT and the operator was taken into custody," police said.
More information will be released at some point later this afternoon, police added.

EAST HAVEN, CT — Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Friday night.
At 10 p.m. in the area of 650 Main St. a pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle, police said.

"The offending vehicle, described as a white hatchback traveling east on Main Street, fled the area," police said. "The offending vehicle should have some type of front end damage to it, possibly near the headlight assembly. We are urging anyone who lives in the area of 650 Main Street to check their cameras for a white hatchback traveling east on Main Street around 10:00 pm. Residents can give us a call at 203-468-3820 with any information relevant to this investigation."
Main Street between Boston Avenue and Charter Oak Avenue will be closed while the South Central Connecticut Traffic Unit (SCCTU) takes over this investigation.
This case remains under investigation and updates will be provided as they become available.
