Winner Declared in East Haven Special Election Race for State Rep

Voters went to the polls on Tuesday to pick between Democrat Josh Balter and Republican Joe Zullo to replace James Albis as state rep.

EAST HAVEN, CT - Town Attorney Joe Zullo won the special election for the 99th District state representative seat over Democrat Josh Balter by about 250 votes, according to unofficial results compiled 90 minutes after polls closed Tuesday night.

The unofficial results had Zullo with 1,658 votes and Balter with 1,408.

The special election was held after James Albis stepped down from the seat to take a job in Gov. Ned Lamont's new administration.
