2 Osborn Inmates Test Positive For Legionnaires Disease: Report
The disease was found in both individuals while they were being treated at a nearby hospital, and they have since returned to the prison.

SOMERS, CT — Two inmates at the Osborne Correctional Institution tested positive for legionnaires disease and were treated at a nearby hospital, CT Insider reported.
A spokeswoman for the Connecticut Department of Correction confirmed the infections to CT Insider.
The illness was discovered in the individuals while they were hospitalized, and both have since returned to the medium-security prison, spokeswoman Karen Martucci told CT Insider.

Legionnaires is a form of pneumonia that typically grows in water, cooling towers, decorative fountains, and hot tubs, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Most people who get infected with legionnaires require hospitalization, and the disease has around a 10 percent fatality rate.
