America 250--Two Lights for Tomorrow
One if by land, two if by sea....Two Lights for Tomorrow is a nationwide initiative to commence the celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America. The famous ride of Paul Revere occurred overnight on April 18-19, 1775. Two Lights for Tomorrow commemorates that famous ride, as well as those of others, and uses the imagery of that shining light today as a uniting call to action for our citizens to celebrate and serve. We invite you to display two lights in your window on the evening of April 18. A kit to make lanterns is available at the Hall Memorial Library, 93 Main Street, Ellington.
The Ellington Patriotic Committee and other town volunteers have formed a committee to begin planning for Ellington's celebration for America 250. If you have any ideas or comments, please reach out to hallmlib@ellington-ct.gov. The next meeting will be April 28 at the Library.
