Faulty Equipment, Reported Ammonia Leak Prompt Evacuation At Ellington Plant

ELLINGTON, CT - Employees of an Ellington juice plant were evacuated Wednesday morning due to a reported ammonia leak.

Firefighters from several agencies responded to Country Pure Foods on Route 83, near the Vernon town line. The cause was determined to be faulty equipment.

The incident did not cause any traffic disruption in a normally busy area.
