Herbs and spices are comforting, holistic and healthy. And that’s what draws people to Kassandra Herbs Unlimited, the Somers Business of the Month for November. The shop is located at 54 Springfield Road, and it’s a truly eclectic shopping experience. In addition to hundreds of herbs and spices, the store also has hand-thrown pottery, suncatchers, cookbooks, and many other items. Kassandra was nominated for her customer service, innovative products, and contribution to town projects. The award for December was presented to store owner Katherine Mashiak by Somers First Selectman Tim Keeney.
Patrons from any community can nominate a Somers business for the award based on such criteria as superior customer service, innovative products or services, professional staff development, donating money to a town project, sponsoring a youth project, or longevity in business. Sponsored by the Economic Development Commission, the award is presented monthly.
