Bridge Replacement Work On Route 140 In Ellington Delayed
Ellington officials have said they have been told by the state DOT to estimate "a worst-case scenario of a mid-September opening."

ELLINGTON, CT — A bridge replacement project on Route 140 which started June 21 and was expected to be completed early this week has been delayed, and Ellington officials have said they have been told by the state Department of Transportation to estimate "a worst-case scenario of a mid-September opening."
Since work began replacing the bridge carrying Route 140 over Charters Brook, detours have been in place at Burbank and Webster roads. The work also entails sightline improvements at Webster Road at the intersection of Route 140, known locally as Crystal Lake Road.
Access will continue to be provided to local residents from the east and west ends of the detour.
