ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

Champlain College, Burlington VT

  • Colin Yeager of Ellington was named to the Champlain College President's List for the fall 2024 semester. Students on the President's List have achieved a grade point average of 4.0 or higher during the semester. Yeager is majoring in computer networking & cybersecurity.
  • Four students from Ellington have been named to the Champlain College Dean's List for achieving a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in the fall 2024 semester. They are Benjamin Baehre, majoring in game design; Alexander Bianca, majoring in game programming; Jeffrey Gordon, majoring in broadcast media production; and Anna Olender, majoring in game art.

Clark University, Worcester MA

  • Eliana M. Wood of Somers was named to second honors on the Clark University Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester. Students must have a GPA between 3.50 and 3.79 for second honors.

Elms College, Chicopee MA

  • Thomas Kennison and Francesca Cardinale, both of Somers, and Christina Gottier of Ellington were named to the dean's list for the fall 2024 semester.

  • Goodwin University's President's List for the fall 2024 session includes Casey Noller and Ericka Cotto, both of Ellington, and Jennifer Fancher of Somers, all of who scored a perfect 4.0 GPA.
  • Ellington residents Emma Audet, Olivia Catlett and Danielle Taylor achieved Dean's List status for the fall 2024 session. Dean's List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify.

Seton Hall University, South Orange NJ

  • Morgan Frye of Ellington and Grace McGuinness of Somers qualified for the fall 2024 Dean's Lists. After the close of every semester, undergraduate students completing all courses with a GPA of 3.4, with no grades lower than "C", qualify for the Dean's List.

State University of New York, Cortland NY

  • Ryan Wheeler of Ellington was among the 2,971 students named to the Dean's List at SUNY Cortland for the fall 2024 semester. Wheeler is studying archaeology. The Dean's List is the highest ranking for undergraduate students in their respective academic areas of the university. Students must earn a minimum 3.3 grade point average for the semester to make the list.

Tufts University, Medford MA

  • Tufts University recently announced the dean's list for the fall 2024 semester, including two students from Ellington: Josh Wilkie, Class of 2026, and Juliana Barbosa, Class of 2028. Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

  • Two dozen students from Ellington and Somers earned placement on the President's List or Dean's List for the fall 2024 semester. Making both lists were Carlie Bouchard, Meaghan Bucklin, Julia Goric, John Hintze, Mira Houghtaling, Claire McMenamin, Nora Miller, Melissa Ryan, Kareem Shreidi, Sophie Vallez and Lindsey Wearne, all of Ellington, and Jed Clark, Reese Emlen, Hanna Grace, Audrey Mahoney and Alexandra McLellan, all of Somers. Dean's List honors went to Tessa Farrington, Natalie Kiessling, Sydney Matz and Tamera Price, all of Ellington, and Trent Beggs, Celia Bruel, Mara Butler and Bella Caye, all of Somers. To be placed on the President's List, students must maintain a GPA of at least a 3.75 and receive grades of C or better. Requirements for the Dean's List is a grade point average of at least 3.0 and no grade below C.
