Celebrate Ellington's Winterfest at the Nellie McKnight Museum

A full day of holiday shopping, family fun, history, and winter magic—free for all to enjoy!

Winterfest is returning to the Nellie McKnight Museum 70 Main St. , filling the historic 1812 home with holiday sparkle, family fun, and community cheer from 9 AM to 7 PM. Step inside to explore the Holiday Marketplace and Nellie’s Mercantile, both overflowing with festive décor, locally crafted goods, Connecticut-themed treasures, and gently loved holiday items perfect for gifting. The Holiday Boutique offers even more unique finds, while the 2025 exhibit, “Ellington’s Sports History,” invites guests to journey through decades of hometown teams, heroes, and unforgettable moments.
The day is packed with activities for all ages! At 3 PM, kids can dive into Colonial crafting in the museum kitchen while everyone warms up at the outdoor bonfire, complete with treats from MH Bakes, Chick-fil-A, and the festive Peppermint Pub. Outdoor winter fun kicks off in the afternoon with a lineup of lively games: a Frosty Sled Showdown at 2:30, Santa’s Frosty Fairway snowball challenge at 3:00, Frostbite Soccer Invitational at 3:15, and the hilarious Winterfest Snowball Open at 3:45.
With shopping, history, activities, food, and plenty of holiday spirit, Winterfest at the Nellie McKnight Museum is a full day of magic—free and open to the community. Come celebrate the season in true Ellington style!
