Assumption University, Worcester MA

  • Assumption University has announced that Mallory Bartlett of Ellington, Class of 2026, has been named to the University's Dean's List for the spring 2024 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list, which is announced at the completion of the fall and spring semesters.

  • Alexis Cantin of Ellington received a bachelor of arts degree Magna Cum Laude from College of the Holy Cross. Cantin is among 751 bachelor of arts degree recipients Holy Cross celebrated at its 178th Commencement held in person on Friday, May 24 at the DCU Center in Worcester.

Lasell University, Newton MA

  • Gianna Chiarenza, a Lasell University student from Ellington, was named to the Dean's List for academic performance in the spring 2024 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, Lasell students must complete at least 12 credits as a full-time student and achieve a semester GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Salve Regina University, Newport RI

  • Lillian Thiel of Ellington was awarded a BS in business administration degree during Salve Regina University's 74th commencement. Salve Regina President Kelli Armstrong conferred 503 bachelor's degrees, 271 master's degrees and 22 doctoral degrees to members of the Class of 2024. In total, this year's graduating class was the University's largest ever at 823.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

  • Springfield College has named a number of local students to the dean's list for academic excellence for the 2024 spring semester. They are Beatrice Anyah, Kate Bonanno, Ryan Delaney, Shea Harnois, Lindsey Laughlan and Braeden Shea, all of Ellington, and Somers residents Sarah Gill, Keeley Joyal, Jayden Kement, Aiden Miller and James Uyar.

Stonehill College, Easton MA

  • Ryan Rogers of Somers was among 625 students to process at Stonehill College's 73rd Commencement on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

  • On Friday, May 10, Ellington resident Samantha Curtis, who majored in psychological science, was bestowed a BS/MS degree at Worcester Polytechnic Institute's (WPI) 155th Commencement. Bachelor's degrees were earned by Kayla Carpenter of Ellington, who majored in chemical engineering, and Spencer Whitford of Somers, who majored in biomedical engineering. Nearly 1,100 undergraduate degrees were awarded during the ceremony.
