Multiple Roads In Ellington Closed Due To Downed Trees, Wires

The Ellington DPW has responded to multiple reports of downed trees and wires, town officials say.

ELLINGTON, CT — Several roads in Ellington were closed Friday due to downed trees and wires, town officials said.

Director of Public Works Tom Modzelewski said crews were responding to reports of downed trees and utility wires. As of the latest update, the following locations were closed: 29 Chestnut Drive, 139 Pinnacle Road, 98 Mountain Street, 25 Florence Road, and 100 Pinnacle Road.

The closures will remain in place until the hazards are cleared and it is safe to reopen the roadways. No estimated reopening times were immediately available, officials say.

Motorists are urged to avoid the affected areas, follow posted detours, and use caution as crews continue storm response efforts.
