Ellington Comes Alive on May 3rd with Spring Festivities for All Ages
It's opening day for the Ellington Farmers Market featuring Barnyard Babies and a Vintage and Antique Market at Nellie McKnight Museum
The heart of Ellington will be bustling with activity on Saturday, May 3rd, as two of the town’s most beloved institutions come together to offer a full morning of family-friendly fun, local shopping, and a celebration of history and heritage.
The Ellington Farmers Market kicks off its 2025 outdoor season at Market Park, 72 Maple St. with the ever-popular Barnyard Babies Day from 9 a.m. to noon. This annual favorite gives children and adults alike the chance to meet adorable baby farm animals up close, from lambs and goats to chicks and alpacas. Shoppers can browse a wide variety of locally grown produce, seafood, meats, dairy, eggs, baked goods, specialty foods, handmade items, and more while enjoying live music by Free Range Humans.
Just across the street, the Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main St. will host its Vintage & Antique Market from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring an eclectic mix of vendors offering timeless treasures, collectibles, and one-of-a-kind finds. Inside the museum, guests are invited to explore the newly opened 2025 exhibit, “Field of Dreams: Celebrating Ellington’s Sports History,” which highlights the town’s proud athletic traditions over the decades.
