Ellington Resident Elected to Board of Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS)

Ellington resident Chris Davis has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS) – the State’s official meetings and sports event sales and marketing organization.

“We are pleased to welcome Chris Davis to our Board,” explains Robert Murdock, President of the Connecticut Convention & Sports Bureau (CTMEETINGS). “His expertise in strategic public policy will be invaluable as we expand our work to generate business and funds for the State and the regions where the events take place.”

Chris Davis is Vice President of Public Policy for the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA) where he leads its advocacy team of in-house and contract lobbyists at the State Capitol. He oversees the planning and execution of public policy strategy and initiatives to strengthen CBIA’s mission to boost Connecticut’s economic competitiveness and growth while providing opportunities for all state residents.

Davis previously represented the Connecticut General Assembly’s 57th House District (covering East Windsor and Ellington) for five terms from 2011 to 2021, serving as assistant leader and ranking member of the key Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee. Before joining CBIA two years ago, he served as Manager of Public Affairs for the Connecticut Lottery Corporation, overseeing the quasi-public agency’s government affairs and public relations activities.

Davis earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from the University of Connecticut, and he served as an adjunct professor of political science at the University of Bridgeport. He currently is a member of the Board of Directors of the South Windsor Youth Hockey Association where he also is a youth hockey coach. He previously served on the Board of Directors of the East Windsor Chamber of Commerce and practiced real estate for 12 years. He lives in Ellington with his wife and daughter.
