Ellington Resident Killed In Crash On Route 20 In Windsor

WINDSOR, CT — A single-car crash on Route 20 in Windsor early Tuesday morning claimed the life of an Ellington resident, according to a state police report.

Around 12:33 a.m., James Engle, 60, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LS in the right lane of the Route 20 connector to Interstate 91 north when the car veered to the right and entered a grassy area to the right of the ramp. It struck a roadway sign and a pair of trees, police said.

Engle was taken to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries, and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter, police said.
