Ellington and Somers Arrests Include Disorderly Conduct, Interfering with an Officer

June 5

A 57-year-old Somers man had made a right turn onto Route 190 from Hall Hill Road and was traveling west in Somers. He had proceeded approximately 100 feet west of the intersection at a low rate of speed when at 14-year-old juvenile ran across the eastbound lane of travel and into the driver’s side door of his vehicle, causing minor damage. The man explained that he saw the juvenile running towards his car and immediately applied his brakes and came to a full stop. The juvenile at the scene explained that she was not injured as a result of the incident and did not see the vehicle as she ran across the street. The juvenile’s mother was on scene and declined medical treatment for her daughter from Somers EMS.

Connecticut State Police were dispatched to an address on Newsome Avenue in Somers for a reported active domestic violence incident. After an investigation was conducted, Michael Mulligan, 36, of 3 Newsome Rd., was placed under arrest and transported to Troop C. There he was processed and charged with disorderly conduct. Mulligan was later released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and was scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on June 8.

A 30-year-old Wolcott woman was traveling on Turnpike Road in the area of Crestview Drive in Somers when she drove off the right edge of the roadway and struck a wire rope guide rail, damaging approximately 50 feed of said guide rail. The woman, who was not injured in the collision, fled from the scene and was apprehended by police a short time later. The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The woman, Kathryn Colavecchio, of 9 Old New England Rd. in Wolcott, was found to have two active arrest warrants for first-degree failure to appear and two active arrest warrants for second-degree failure to appear with a total bond amount of $20,500. She was also charged with evading responsibility, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, making an improper turn, and interfering with an officer. She had a $1,000 bond for said charges. Colavecchio posted bond and had to appear at three different courts on three different dates in June to answer for the various charges.

June 9

At approximately 2:28 a.m., state police attempted to initate a traffic stop along Roue 83 at the intersection with Middle Butcher Road in Ellington. At this time, the vehicle, a 2006 Subaru Outback, fled southbound into Rockville. Troopers purused the vhicle onto Dow Street in Vernon where the operator then fled on foot. State police were then assisted by Vernon police who had established a perimeter while a state police K9 track was conducted. However, the individual was unable to be located. It was later determined that the vehicle had been recently stolen from a residence on Jobs Hill road in Ellington. The vehicle had been left unlocked and the keys were within the vehicle. Residents are encouraged to remove valuables and to secure their vehicles during the overnight hours. The victim had his unlocked vehicle that was parked in his Jobs Hill Road driveway entered and several items were taken. This case is currently under investigation.

Ellington Restident State Troopers responded to a home on Somers Road in Ellington for a report of the accused being out of control. Prior to arrival, the accused, Dennis E. Robinson, 31, of 253 Somers Rd. in Somers, fled on foot and was later apprehended. It was determined that he had an active arrest warrant for first-degree failure to appear from Bantam Court. Robinson was arrested and transported to Troop C where he was processed and held on a $2,500 cash or surety bond.

June 10

At 6:15 a.m, James C. Urbon, 56, of 154 Hall Hill Rd. in Somers, arrived at Troop C in an effort to turn himself in on an outstanding warrant. He was taken into custody and processed. Urbon was charged with violation of probation/criminal discharge and held on a court set $20,000 cash surety bond.

June 15

On June 15, Kevin Minich, 38, of 225 Pinney St. in Ellington, was arrested and processed on a PRAWN re-arrest warrant from Rockville Superior Court. He was charged with failure to pay or plead.

On June 15, Peter Liebl, 30, of 45 Buff Cap Rd. in Ellington, was arrested and processed on a PRAWN re-arrest warrant from Rockville Superior Court. He was charged with second-degree failure to appear.

June 18

Troop C troopers were dispatched to 95 South Rd. in Somers for an active larceny from a liquor store. Anna Rose Cohn, 26, of 66 Woodland Rd. in Longmeadow, MA, was arrested and charged with sixth-degree larceny. She was released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on June 30.
