Fields of Dreams:Celebrating Ellington’s Sports History

The Ellington Historical Society is calling on the community to help bring history to life in its upcoming 2025 exhibit, "Fields of Dreams: Celebrating Ellington Sports History." This exciting showcase will highlight the rich history of sports in Ellington, honoring local teams, athletes, and the moments that shaped the town's sporting legacy.

To create an exhibit as vibrant and comprehensive as possible, the Historical Society is seeking photos, stories, and memorabilia from the community. These cherished items and memories will help tell the story of how sports have brought people together and shaped Ellington over the years.
Members of the Historical Society will be on hand to collect contributions at the Ellington Farmers Market on two upcoming dates: Saturday, January 25, and Saturday, February 8, from 9 a.m. to noon at Ellington High School. Photos can be scanned on-site, ensuring original items remain with their owners, while memorabilia would be loaned for the duration of the exhibit, which runs throughout 2025.

“We’re thrilled to celebrate Ellington’s sports history, but we can’t do it without the community’s help,” said a representative from the Ellington Historical Society. “Your photos, stories, and memorabilia will help make this exhibit a meaningful tribute to our shared history.”
