Get To Know Your State Roads In Northern Connecticut
An informative periodic series on Patch providing facts and figures on some of the state roads winding through northern Connecticut.

SOMERS, CT/EAST LONGMEADOW, MA — Our latest installment of this periodic informative series on Patch sites in northern Connecticut, providing facts and figures about some of the state roads which wind through the area, features a route which begins in Connecticut and ends in Massachusetts, yet only traverses one town in each state.
Route 186 begins at the junction of Route 190 in Somers, and ends at the dreaded East Longmeadow rotary, famously included in Ripley's Believe It or Not as the only known junction of seven streets without a traffic light in America.
The road contains mainly residential homes, including some magnificent sprawling properties with breathtaking hillside views. There are very few commercial businesses along the route.
