Hole Left In Dunkin' Donuts As Car Backs Into Building In Ellington

A parking lot mishap in Ellington left a Dunkin' damaged.

ELLINGTON, CT — The Dunkin' Donuts at the Five Corners roundabout still had a large wooden patch on one side Monday morning, the result of a wayward automobile.

And it was a new car.

State police released a report on the incident this week.

According to a crash report, a 76-year-old South Windsor man was backing his 2025 Lexus NX into a parking space when the car suddenly accelerated. The Lexus then slammed into the west side of the building, according to a crash report.

The crash was dangerously close to the side entrance for the Dunkin' and adjacent gas station convenience store.

The car had to be towed from the scene and the side of the building was damaged, but no injuries were reported, according to a crash report.
