July Heats Up with Fun, Festivals, and Fresh Finds at the Ellington Farmers Market!

The Ellington Farmers Market is sizzling with summer fun every Saturday in July at Market Park, 72 Maple Street! Each week brings fresh local produce, music, delicious food, and exciting family-friendly events you won’t want to miss.

July 5: Patriotic Celebration
Kick off the month with a red, white, and blue celebration! Ellington Youth Services will be at the market providing patriotic crafts for kids and handing out American flags. Children are invited to join a festive parade around Market Park starting at 10:30 am - a perfect way to celebrate the holiday weekend with community spirit.

July 12: Dr. Bugman and The Bees
A fan favorite returns! Dr. Bugman is back with his fun and educational insect display, and Pease Bees will once again bring their fascinating Living Bee Hive exhibit. Learn all about the vital role pollinators play in our environment and get an up-close look at the incredible world of bees.

July 19: Blueberry Festival
It’s blueberry season and they are celebrating with the annual Blueberry Festival! The star of the show is LuAnn’s legendary Blueberry Shortcake, made with fresh local berries. Enjoy all things blueberry, from muffins to jams, and take home a pint (or two!) of juicy, farm-fresh fruit.

July 26: Pickle Festival
Wrap up the month with a tangy twist! The Pickle Festival returns with plenty of pickled products including pickle cupcakes to sample and enjoy. From classic dills to creative brines, you’ll find something to tickle your taste buds.

The Ellington Farmers Market is proud to match SNAP and FMNP (Farmers Market Nutrition Program) vouchers for low-income seniors and WIC recipients. Eligible individuals should contact their local WIC office or town Social Services Department to apply for these valuable benefits and stretch their food dollars while supporting local farmers.
