Ladies and Gentlemen Start Your Engines For the Zucchini 500 Drag Race At The Ellington Farmers Market
Strap a set of wheels to a zucchini to fit on the 6.5 inch track and join the fun in Market Park
Ellington, CT – Calling all speed lovers—start your engines! The Ellington Farmers Market wildly popular and hilarious Zucchini 500 Drag Race takes place on Saturday, August 2 at Market Park, 72 Maple St. This high-octane veggie showdown begins sharply at 10:30 a.m.
Competitors are encouraged to craft their own zucchini race cars and roll into the action. Strap a set of wheels onto a zucchini and join the fun.. The race is double elimination, meaning each car gets two chances to make it down the track before being knocked out.
But there’s a twist—this isn't just any old race track. Your zucchini racer must fit on a 6.5-inch-wide track, so build smart and keep it sleek! Wheels, axles, and creativity are all fair game, as long as your veggie vehicle can roll straight and fast.
