Motor Vehicle Accident with Extrication on Main Street in Somers

Somers Fire Department and CT State Police units responded to a a serious motor vehicle accident Thursday morning.

Somers, CT – January 16, 2025 – At approximately 6:31 a.m. this morning, the Somers Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident in front of 794 Main Street (Route 190). Upon arrival, members found one individual trapped in the vehicle and began extrication efforts immediately.

Firefighters successfully extricated the individual, and advanced life support (ALS) care was provided on scene by the Somers Paramedic. The patient was packaged and transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

Route 190 is currently closed in both directions as the Connecticut State Police investigate the incident. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes and exercise caution in the area.
