ELLINGTON, CT — A collision between a tractor trailer and a motorcycle resulted in the bike operator being taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon, according to Ellington Volunteer Fire Department Chief Jack Rich.

The crash occurred around 12:11 p.m. at the junction of Windsorville and Abbott roads, adjacent to the playground of the Windermere School. The motorcycle operator was conscious and alert upon being placed into an ambulance, Rich said.

"The extent of injuries are unknown at this time," state police told Patch.
