Picklefest Takes Over Ellington Farmers Market This Saturday
A briny bash of bold flavors, local favorites, and live music—Picklefest returns to the Ellington Farmers Market this Saturday
Something briny is brewing at the Ellington Farmers Market—and it’s kind of a big dill.
Get ready for Picklefest, the market’s wildly popular annual celebration of all things pickled, fermented, crunchy, and curiously delicious that takes place in Market Park, 72 Maple St from 9am to noon Saturday July 26th. From the humble dill spear to creative culinary mashups, this year’s lineup proves there’s more to a pickle than meets the jar.
Visitors can expect a full spread of traditional pickled vegetables alongside eyebrow-raising innovations like pickle lemonade, pickle kombucha, pickle fudge, pickle bagels, and the ever-surprising pickle cupcake—courtesy of local favorite LuAnn’s Bakery. Whether your taste buds prefer sweet or spicy, mild or mouth-puckering, there's a pickle with your name on it.

Fan-favorite vendor My Uncle’s Garden returns for the occasion, offering their coveted lemon half-sours at the Farmers Feeding Families fundraiser booth. But fair warning—those pickles are known to sell out early, so plan to arrive on time.
Adding to the festive vibe, the Free Range Humans will bring their signature “Pubgrass” sound to the market stage. With tight harmonies and toe-tapping energy, the quartet provides the perfect pickle-pairing soundtrack.

In addition to the pickle frenzy, the Ellington Farmers Market will continue to match SNAP and Farmers Market Nutrition Program benefits, ensuring everyone can join in on the fun. Kids can sample produce, engage in a "pickle craft" and receive a $3 token to purchase fresh produce, empowering them to make healthy food choices, at the Kids Power of Produce booth.
Whether you're a pickle purist or just along for the spectacle, Picklefest promises a Saturday morning full of flavor, fun, and unexpected delights. Bring your curiosity—and maybe a toothbrush—and head to 72 Maple Street from 9 a.m. to noon. You’ll leave with a full heart, a full belly, and probably a pickle in each hand.
