ELLINGTON, CT — A segment of Ellington Avenue is closed Monday morning, and will be until the early afternoon hours, due to removal of a hazardous tree.

A crane is required to remove the tree, forcing the Department of Public Works to close the roadway at 151 Ellington Avenue. The street is closed from Mountain Road to Stein Road until around 2 p.m.

Local traffic and emergency apparatus will not be able to pass due to the crane setup; however, access can be provided to either side of the work zone should an emergency occur.
