Shining Stars On Campus: Feats By Ellington, Somers College Students

ELLINGTON-SOMERS, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted as they are received in the coming weeks.

American International College, Springfield MA

• American International College congratulates its student-athletes who have been inducted into the Athletic Director's 3.0 Club for the fall 2023 semester. AIC Athletics Director Jessica Chapin recognized more than three hundred student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better after one or more years enrolled at AIC. Honorees from Somers are Thomas Lafayette, majoring in general business; Caroline Colton, majoring in exercise science; and Marissa Long, majoring in health science.

Assumption University, Worcester MA

• Mallory Bartlett of Ellington, Class of 2026, has been named to the University's Dean's List for the fall 2023 semester. Students named to the Dean's List must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester to be included on the prestigious list.

Bryant University, Smithfield RI

• Jack Gebo of Somers and Vincent Sivo of Ellington have been named to the fall 2023 President's List. The President's List is an academic distinction reserved for Bryant's highest achievers who earn a GPA of 4.0 for at least 12 semester hours of work.
• Bryant University is pleased to recognize the seven local students named to the fall 2023 Deans' List. They are Andrew Heyman, Gavin Laughlan, John Rood and Vincent Sivo, all of Ellington, and Somers residents Robin Gaskell, Jack Gebo and Gavin Rauza. To earn a place on the Deans' List, students must have a GPA of 3.4 or better for at least 12 semester hours of work.

Tufts University, Medford MA

• Josh Wilkie, Class of 2026, of Ellington, was named to the dean's list at Tufts University for the fall 2023 semester. Dean's list honors at Tufts University require a semester grade point average of 3.4 or greater.

University of Saint Joseph, West Hartford CT

• University of Saint Joseph undergraduate students who earned their way to the Dean's List for the fall 2023 semester include Khang Dang, Eben Holmes, Sara Mateya and Andrew Parisi, all of Ellington. Students were awarded this academic achievement for having earned a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the semester, with no grade lower than a "B."
