Somers Fire Department Remembers Captain Craig Arnone

Somers honors a fallen firefighter on the 29th anniversary of his line-of-duty death.

SOMERS, CT — The Somers Fire Department is honoring the memory of Captain Craig Michael Arnone on the 29th anniversary of his line-of-duty death.

Arnone, who joined the department at a young age, served Somers for 10 years. He attended Springfield College and rose to the rank of Captain in the EMS division, reflecting his skill, professionalism, and deep commitment to patient care.

He died on December 8th, 1996, at just 23 years old while fighting a structure fire. In both firefighting and EMS, colleagues say Arnone embodied compassion, courage, and unwavering dedication to helping others.
