Troop C Police Blotter — Weekend Arrests Ending Oct. 20, 2013

The latest arrests relating to Ellington, Somers and other surrounding towns.

Arrest information is furnished by the state police Troop C barracks and does not indicate a conviction. 

Tolland 

Oct. 19

Stephen Asamoah, 46, of 60 Charles Drive, Manchester, was charged with DUI and failure to drive in the proper lane after a traffic stop on Interstate-84, state police said. 

The stop was at 1:09 a.m. heading west, just east of exit 67, state police said. 
Mansfield

Oct. 20

State police are asking for help in locating suspects that approached and then chased a woman along Hunting Lodge Road at 9:15 p.m. 

At that time, the woman was walking east on the westbound shoulder near North Eagleville Road, state police said. 

A "sedan-type vehicle" of unknown make or model was approaching her, state police said. The car slowed down and stopped after passing the woman and then began to approach her in reverse, state police said. 

The vehicle stopped again and someone exited it from the passenger side and began chasing the woman in an easterly direction, state police said. The woman was able to make it to her residence unharmed and later called state police, according to a report.

At 12:33 a.m., Jake Barnowski, 22, was charged with traveling at an unreasonable speed and DUI after a traffic stop on Route 44, state police said. 

He was observed traveling 55 mph in a "clearly posted" 40 mph zone, state police said. 

Somers

Oct. 18

Timothy Wetherington, 24, of 89 Pioneer Heights, Somers, was charged with second-degree failure to appear, state police said. 

A warrant from a September incident had been issued for his arrest, state police said. 

Ellington

Oct. 18

Alex Nacin, 21, of 12 Sand piper Rd., Enfield, was charged with traveling at an unreasonable speed and DUI, after a traffic stop on Pinney Street at 4:11 a.m., state police said.
 
He failed a series of field sobriety tests after being pulled over, state police said.
