Elderly Dog May Have Been Left To Fend For Himself, Enfield Police Say

The town's animal control believes that the dog may have been abandoned, officials say.

ENFIELD, CT — Police are asking for the public’s help identifying the owner of an elderly pit-bull terrier mix found wandering alone early Saturday morning.

According to a social media post from the Enfield Police Department, a resident found the dog at approximately 2 a.m. on Nov. 29. Enfield Animal Control believes the dog was “left to fend for himself.”

Anyone who recognizes the animal or knows who may be responsible for him is asked to contact Enfield Animal Control at 860-763-8944 or email dyoho@enfield.org. Tips may be submitted anonymously.

Officials say their goal is to identify the dog’s owner or keeper and ensure the animal receives proper care.
