Enfield Declares War On Loneliness Epidemic

A local coalition is hosting a special kick-off event for its new 'Enfield Connects' campaign, which aims to bring folks together.

ENFIELD, CT — One Enfield community organization is declaring war on loneliness, and all are invited to a special kickoff event to help in the cause.

The Enfield Together Coalition has embarked on its "Enfield Connects" initiative, "a new townwide campaign to build community and foster connection in Enfield."

It will kick off at a special event from 9 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 24, at CT State Asuntuck (formerly Asuntuck Community College), 170 Elm St., Enfield.

The program will feature guest speaker Deb Bibbins from CT Collaborative to End Loneliness, a statewide initiative aimed at encouraging people to be engaged with each other.

"Together, we'll make Enfield a place where everyone belongs," wrote event organizers.

Registration is requested in advance, and those interested can do so by scanning a QR code on event literature or via an online link.
