Enfield PD Charges 5 In Shoplifting Sweep: Police
The Enfield PD was in the town's shopping district on Thursday, conducting an enforcement operation.

ENFIELD, CT — A local police sweep targeting theft in Enfield's shopping district netted five suspects on Thursday.
According to the Enfield Police Department, the sweep took place on Thursday, Oct. 9, and it was carried out by Enfield Community Police Officers, Connecticut State Police, the Enfield Detective Bureau, and the EPD K-9 unit.
"Law enforcement worked directly with loss prevention from several stores to identify and apprehend shoplifters as they were actively committing larcenies," the EPD wrote Friday, Oct. 10.

"During this operation, three people were arrested for shoplifting, and two for motor vehicle and/or drug-related charges."
According to the EPD, the following suspects were charged in the operation:

• Farrah Decker, 24, of Enfield, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under suspension, improper marker plates, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without minimum insurance, engaging police in pursuit, reckless driving, and reckless endangerment.
• Terrance Jones, 35, of Windsor Locks, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• Shayna Castello, 37, of Enfield, was charged with sixth-degree larceny, resisting arrest, unlawful possession of a personal identifying device, and possession of a controlled substance.
• Stephanie Velez, 30, of Springfield, Mass., was charged with sixth-degree larceny and risk of injury to a minor.
• Jamiretsi Olivencia, 33, of Springfield, Mass., was charged with sixth-degree larceny and risk of injury to a minor.
All were slated to appear in court.
