Enfield Police K-9 Tracks Down Suspect After Chase, Officers Say

ENFIELD, CT — A stolen vehicle suspect was tracked down by a police K-9 Thursday night after fleeing from officers on Elm Street, according to a statement from the Enfield Police Department.

Officers on the evening shift were alerted to the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it, but the driver sped off, police said. A spike strip was successfully deployed, disabling the car, though officers briefly lost sight of it.

The car was found a short time later, abandoned in an apartment complex on Orlando Drive. Officers said they quickly set up a perimeter and launched a search led by K-9 Odin.

Police said Odin tracked the suspected driver to a dense, wooded area roughly a quarter mile away, where the individual was found hunkered down and taken into custody.
