Enfield Police Sting Nabs Foursome Of 'Professional Shoplifters'
Authorities broke up an organized retail theft operation in Enfield Wednesday.

ENFIELD, CT — A law enforcement sting the Enfield Square Mall Wednesday evening broke up what authorities are terming "another organized retail theft operation."
Enfield police teamed up with the Connecticut State Police Organized Retail Theft task force on the detail, which focused on "a businesses in the area of the Enfield Square Mall."
Four people, all from New York City, were arrested as a part of a large scale, "professional shoplifting operation," police said.

The shoplifters left the mall, their vehicle was stopped, and authorities recovered about $6,500 in stolen merchandise, police said.

- Miguel Manon, 29
- Melvin Ramirez, 37
- Josefina Beltre, 43
- Deyanira Sanchez, 34
All were charged with third-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny, possession of shoplifting devices and organized retail theft. They were held overnight on $10,000 cash/surety bonds and were to appear in court Thursday, police said.
