Enfield Town Employee Dies After Crash Involving Lawnmower, Car: Police
The town employee was on a lawnmower at the time of the crash, police said.

ENFIELD, CT — The Enfield Police Department said it is investigating a "serious" crash involving a car and a town Department of Public Works lawnmower on Friday afternoon.
Police said the accident occurred on North Main Street near Enfield Street after 12 p.m. Police said "both involved parties," have been transported to the hospital and the injuries are considered "serious."
The operator of the lawnmower, Jamie Nickerson, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and died hours later, police said in an update late Friday.

An East Windsor resident was driving a Honda Accord at the time of the crash and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
NBC Connecticut said the town employee suffered serious injuries and burns. The other driver, a local fire official and a "good Samaritan," all worked to extinguish the fire, NBC CT reported. (Read more at NBC CT).
