Enfield's Newest Law Enforcer Took Jersey Journey

The political science major with a community relations background begins police academy training next week.

ENFIELD, CT — The Enfield Police Department officially welcomed its newest crime fighter, one who comes to Connecticut via New Jersey.

The EPD on Thursday swore in Officer Randall Ramirez, who grew up in North Brunswick, N.J.

A graduate of Middlesex County College in Middlesex, N.J., Ramirez has a degree in political science.

Before becoming a cop, Ramirez worked in community relations, working as a youth group leader, where he mentored teens and coordinated community service projects, including food drives and outreach events.

Ramirez will attend the Hartford Police Academy starting Monday, Sept. 29.

When academy training is complete, Ramirez will undergo field training in Enfield before fully hitting the beat.
