Man Tried To Flood Cell After Crash, DUI Arrest In South Windsor: Police

The man was arrested after deliberately causing the crash and later attempted to flood his jail cell, officers said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A Windsor man is facing multiple charges after police say he intentionally brake-checked another driver in South Windsor, causing a crash Thursday night.

According to their news release, South Windsor police officers responded to Graham Road and Mark Drive around 10:00 p.m. for a two-car collision.

Police said the driver, 30-year-old Everett Trotman, had pulled in front of another vehicle and then slammed on his brakes on purpose, putting two passengers at risk.

Trotman was charged with operating under the influence, second-degree criminal mischief, interfering with an officer, drinking while driving, two counts of reckless endangerment, and failure to wear a seat belt.

According to police, Trotman appeared intoxicated and refused to complete field sobriety tests.

He was taken into custody and later attempted to flood his jail cell by stuffing his shirt into the toilet, officers said.

He was held on a $10,000 bond and is expected in Manchester Superior Court on Friday.
